Description

The 24mm thick furniture grade dense particle board base used on this product adds the extra weight necessary to support a cat sleeping in the bed at the top of the post. Here at ScratchyCats, we wouldn't ever want to sell something unstable - and producing a product that both you and your cat will be happy with is our number 1 aim.

The size of the base and tub bed varies depending on the height of the post, (see the measurements below) with the taller posts having a larger base and bed - so there's a suitable sized post and bed combination for every cat. The tub bed features 12cm tall rigid sides to keep your cat safe, whilst the base of the bed has 1 inch thick foam wrapped in soft fleece. The foam retains your cats body heat for a warm cosy nights sleep.

The scratching post itself can be mounted both ways up. You will find that the cat will normally only scratch in one place - near the top of the post. This will obviously mean that this section will wear more than the rest. With the unique ScratchyCats design, you can flip the post over when it's worn so what was the top part now becomes the bottom and your cat has a brand new section to scratch at. This feature makes the post even longer lasting than usual.

With it's small rubber feet, this scratching post is safe to use on all floors inside your home. The rubber feet add traction to the base so the post will not move while your cat scratches at it.

You can choose the height of your cat scratching post when you checkout. Choose from 40cm all the way up to a staggering 80cm (perfect for big cats). You can also buy replacement parts for this scratching post including the base, tub bed and the post itself from our parts page.

Please be aware: sisal rope is a natural rope and as such the colour of the rope may vary slightly according to the time of year. Sisal rope is an abrasive rope and although ideal for cat scratching posts, we advise you to handle with care to avoid injury. We also advise you to inspect the scratching post regularly and replace when worn. All our products are now wrapped in 8mm sisal rope. Although this rope is slightly thinner than previously used (pre-March 2018), it's a higher grade premium quality sisal rope manufactured specifically for ScratchyCats, some web site photos may show the older thicker 10mm sisal rope no longer used.
