They did use other posts we have, but they always moved around when in use which is why I think they liked the chair as it stayed still! However your post stands firm even on our smooth floor, and they can really get a good purchase on it - they love it and have stopped bothering with the chair! "Your red cat tree arrived today. It's super, I love it, and the cats do too. The cats are all over it. The tree looks great and fits where I want it. I will send you photos when they all calm down, currently they are all trying to claim it and my two kittens are chasing each other up and down it. "Hi there! We took delivery of this gorgeous red cat scratcher yesterday for our two rescue cats Lily (tortie) and Harry (black & white). We originally got them a standard scratcher from a well known auction site which Lily managed to destroy in less than 6 months! This one, however, I believe will last much, much longer as the quality and craftsmanship is second to none. Really sturdy and the fleece is so soft. Yes, it is a little more expensive than others you can get but it is well worth it. You do get what you pay for after all. Harry and Lily are very nervous cats and are still getting used to this beautiful scratcher (they probably can't believe that it's theirs!) but once they have settled, I will post some pictures.
